About the Editor/Owner

Ashley Wijangco is an 18-year-old college sophomore with the aspirations of becoming a basketball writer. She currently studies News-Editorial Journalism at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Being born in Chicago and raised in the suburbs, becoming a Bulls fan was inevitable; however, it the influenced of her father and, more so, her older brother that molded an overall interest in basketball. Kirk ended up being her brother's favorite Bull, and, soon enough, Kirk was also her favorite Bull. A few years into his career and Kirk earned the title of being Ashley's absolute favorite basketball player.

To this day, Ashley's loyalty to Kirk remains even with all of the ups and downs he's had in recent years. She even made sure to catch whatever games she could when Kirk was on the Washington Wizards and Atlanta Hawks.

As a sports writer, Ashley's work can be found on various outlets on the web. She received her start in sports journalism in April 2012 at FanSided's Chicago Bulls fan site Pippen Ain't Easy as a staff writer and social media reporter. She still maintains her position there today as a staff writer and social media manager and can often be found writing in defense of Kirk.

From there, Ashley worked on her high school newspaper as the layout editor and often wrote about the NBA. She also had a brief stint as an NBA writer for The Sports Post in the latter half of 2013. She now works as a contributor for The Bulls Charge, which is where her non-Bulls pieces can be found.

In her freshman year at Illinois, Ashley was hired by the campus newspaper, The Daily Illini, as a sports writer. She covered the Illinois women's golf team before also being assigned to also report on the Illinois women's gymnastics team. She is now a bi-weekly sports columnist.

Ashley's sport journalism ventures will continue through this blog. She hopes it will give her more practice and experience with writing while also allowing her to express her fanaticism for her favorite basketball player.
